Alberto Álvarez

Previously, Mr. Álvarez worked at several Spanish and international top law firms, where he gained broad experience in the fields of company law, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and insolvency, commercial contracts and dispute resolution (litigation and arbitration).

His extensive experience in M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital includes advising institutional and industrial clients on national and cross-border complex transactions (LBOs, MBOs/MBIs/BIMBOs, joint ventures, taking of majority or minority stakes, share deals, asset deals). He advises investors, targets and start-ups on investments throughout their lifecycle. His clients range from institutional and industrial investors, to target companies.

Likewise, he has particular expertise in corporate restructuring (mergers, spin-offs) and debt restructuring and insolvency advising domestic and foreign companies on insolvency proceedings, representing both debtors and creditors (negotiation and approval of out-of-court restructuring transactions, including the restructuring of international groups, as well as the sale and acquisition of loan portfolios).

Alberto also has experience in litigation (mainly related to insolvency proceedings, claw back issues and directors’ liability claims) and general corporate and commercial law matters.

Alberto holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master degree in International Business Law (LLM) from the San Pablo CEU University and has strong language skills and international experience since he lived and studied in Germany (where he obtained the German bachelor’s degree –Abitur–) and USA.

Alberto has written several articles and held lectures at seminars and conferences that are related to his areas of expertise.
